4 Things to Know About Back to School at Brave

Summer has flown and August brings new beginnings, new teachers and for some new schools and new journeys to college.

The past ten weeks have gone quickly with the absence of homework, much pool time, the joy of exploring, and my kids favorite - the lemonade stand!

This month there is plenty to be excited about!

Here are Four things to Know About Back to School at Brave:

1. We are Kicking Off the Back to School Season with Our First Full-Time Kids Director.

One of our own, Matt McKeithan is joining the BRAVE Church staff and we couldn’t be more excited. BRAVE Kids has grown steadily over the past 4 years and we now have 100 kids over both gatherings who are learning about how much God loves them and how to follow Jesus.

2. There Will Be a Back to School BBQ for Middle Schoolers.

On August 19th from noon-three, Brave Youth is putting on it's first back to school bbq. There will be games, prizes and free food (register below).

3. Backpacks with Care Project Was a Huge Success.

Thank you to each and everyone of you who contributed to this. Because of our Brave family, 193 kids who did not have the resources they needed, will be attending school with a brand new back pack and supplies.

4. Prayer for Schools is Happening at Both Gatherings This Sunday.

This weekend we will be celebrating and thanking all our teachers, school administrators, counselors, and more who serve our schools with the kids in our community and in our Brave Kids program.  Here at Brave we love those who have a heart for teaching and supporting our teachers because...

"A teacher affects eternity; they can never tell where their influence stops."
-Henry Brooks Adams

So to those of you who teach, whether it be in a school or at Brave, we want to thank you and we pray for you today.  Join us this Sunday as we pray specifically for our teachers at both gatherings as they head back to school and be world changers to our kids.

A Prayer for Today:

Father God, We lift up all teachers to you.  We pray that they will know you with all their heart, soul and mind.  We thank you that they have Godly influence upon our kids and we pray that their lives, their actions and their words will positively affect the eternity of our kids.  Help them to meet all the kids that they are with, where they are at.  Give them patience and a whole lot of Jesus as they change the world for the kids who they are around. Amen
